About Me

Photography has always been in my heart. I have always loved being in pictures or taking them. Over the years I have filled albums of photos of friends and family, many of them full of memories and fun moments. I also have tons of photos of me playing the role of a model. I used to dream about being a model, but never had the courage, confidence or time to do it. It seems that life had so many other things planned for me instead. While modeling may not have been in the cards, it seems that my love for photography wouldn't always stay in the background. For awhile I might have ignored the call of photography, but eventually that voice would no longer be quieted.

One day a friend of mine was selling his camera and that voice started to become clearer. I could not get the idea out of my head, so I decided to get the camera. He gave me some pointers on how to use the camera, but overall it was trial and error in the beginning. I didn't have much time for research, my life was too busy at the moment for me to read up on techniques. So I just decided to wing it and take pictures of my kids, family and anyone around me. Soon it became a constant hobby, I continued to improve and I started to shoot more and more. When I look at how I have grown from then to now, a smile comes to my face.

It has been a few years since I bought my first good camera from my dear friend Brad Potterbaum. I'm so happy that I made that investment! I have grown so much as a photographer and artist, because to me that's what I do, it's art. I like traditional photography, but my LOVE is capturing specific moments. Moments that show that person's personality or a child's innocence. When I first started taking pictures I really thought I wanted to do more model photography, that is till I had the pleasure of meeting and taking little Gwen's pictures. I fell in love with her! Her smile, her innocence, her not even putting attention to my camera but instead playing, running around, being a kid. Looking at her through my lens she was just so adorable!

I am a graphic/web designer living in Northwest Indiana. I have been married for 20 years and am a mother of two wonderful children. I am happy to be able to add, "photographer" to that list. I have been doing this for a while now and am finally ready to say, "I have what it takes to be a "professional" photographer". To be honest, I really don't like to use the term "professional". I prefer to say that I am an "artist" and if you like what you see, then let's work together!

Warm regards,
